OFFICIAL ROUTES
Find municipal reporting, ward councillor, PAIA, Public Protector and emergency routes relevant to Nelson Mandela Bay.
Start with a municipal case number. If the issue remains unresolved, move the same record to your ward representative, a records request or an oversight body. Emergency services are for immediate danger.
Submit a query through NMBM E-Service or phone 041 506 5555. Ask for the reference number, responsible unit and next update date.
Call the water operations line at 0800 20 5050 or email waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za. Include the street, nearest public landmark, start time and municipal case reference.
Use the IEC ward councillor lookup. Send the case number, location and the date the municipality last responded; ask which office owns the next action.
Ask for the fault log, work order, contract, payment and close-out evidence through a formal records request. See the government directory for NMBM’s PAIA Information Officer and the Information Regulator’s PAIA guidance.
For persistent maladministration or undue delay after using municipal channels, submit a complaint to the Public Protector. Attach your case reference, timeline, correspondence and the specific remedy you requested.
Call NMBM Emergency Response at 041 585 1555, SAPS at 10111, or mobile emergency number 112. The municipality’s Safety & Security WhatsApp notice describes a separate, non-emergency reporting route; check its latest status before use.
These links point to external public services. Keep copies of forms and messages you submit; the report does not submit a complaint on your behalf.
